On a serious note does anyone out there believe that complaining Trinidadians will ever put another political party in power?
The PNM won the last general elections but the combined votes of the two competing political entities showed that the greater percentage of the population were dissatisfied with the modus operandi of PM Manning and his band of merrymakers.
Do you believe that the feuding opposing forces can ever pool their resources to go mano ah mano with the ruling party? Sheeesh... Everyone wants to lead... maybe that is the problem.
I participate in a chat-box called the Shout-box on the WACK radio TV page and the trend there is to complain about the problems at home but almost everyone participating in the chat don't want to remove the ruling party. There are so many excuses but in the end they choose to blame everyone else except the ruling party. "How dey go do dat? They cyar do dat!"
Some of the people simply don’t want to change the ruling party for various reasons but they usually come to the conclusion that a change is not worth it with the typical and boring line creating a stench that is nauseating at times: “Who we go put?” Or maybe for some it is a case of race because as everyone is aware (but don’t like to admit) that the PNM is pro African and the UNC is pro East Indian – so much for National Unity.
Ahh, but then there is the COP (a reincarnation of the NAR?) that is pooling resources from all ethnicities. However, there is still a big problem – Dookeran. First he was a member of the UNC and secondly he is of East Indian decent. Yikes – you say race is an issue in this blessed land (sorry seems like it is cursed with the crime rate spiraling out of control – maybe new governance is needed?); not me, I did not come up with that it is a fact of life and only people wearing blinders won’t admit that it is indeed a fact.
So where do we go from here. I say back to the polls with hope for change. Oh my… but then again it has been four years since the last local government elections… need I say more. Trini has been fooled or is being fooled by the 'Politrickians' not Politicians.
What do you think?
I don’t usually pay attention to the utterances of Mr. Basdeo Panday but today I have to agree with his assessment of the Prime Minister’s desire to member states of the Caribbean and also with his desire to form a political union with those willing to grab petro crumbs. It looks like Mr. Manning wants to one up Dr. Eric Eustace Williams and ‘give birth’ to the already tried and failed West Indies Federation that died on May 31, 1962. I have to agree with Mr. Panday and endorse his views (and yes I still believe that Bas should depart from the leadership of his party- for unity of the opposition). The following quote was taken from the Trinidad Newsday newspaper written By Andre Bagoo Thursday, June 25 2009 “But Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday yesterday criticized Manning for getting his priorities wrong. http://www.newsday.co.tt/news/0,102649.html
“The duty of the Government is to look after its own citizens first,” Panday told reporters hours after Manning made his announcement in Parliament. “Right now I do not think we can afford (this). We can’t afford it because our people still do not have water. Our roads, our hospitals are in a bad way. No, at this point in time the first and most important consideration is our own people.
“I agree that prosperity in the other Caribbean countries is important because it means they can buy goods and services from us,” Panday admitted, but he saw the matter more for the private sector as opposed to public sector intervention. “To be prosperous they (the other Caribbean islands) must invite the private sector because this is a free economy.”
June 11, 2K9 WACKY EVENT Corpus Christi Holiday rolled around in Trinidad & Tobago once again and, as is the norm, it is time to Lime! I guess come and Lime with Damion was appropriate even though he was not at the station but out on the field of play – that is the motto of the show right… come and lime with ‘Damion and Friends’. Well Pardna, the WACK crew decided to participate in an event that was carded to be a cake walk – easy pickings as Trini like to put it. However, not even the Body of Christ could have prevented the Cut Ass that was forthcoming. Hello, not even the Took-ah-Looks man could have anticipated the flogging meted out on this momentous day and nothing in his arsenal could have cured the cataract that blind-sided the WACK cricket team. This Lime went South and soured the event for the radio guys and gals – it was sour stomach on this day and one that would live in infamy for a long, long-time. So what really happened? Well from all accounts the following was picked up off the air: The WACK All-star Cricketers led by the venerable Kenny Phillips were pummeled today by blind cricketers. Indeed the sighted ones could not see their way even when, through pity, they were allowed to take off their “darkers” to see the ball and more importantly to save face. However, even this did not help as the WACK team humiliated themselves against a group of legally blind cricketers. The Fireman David Matthews was laughing his ass off in the studio because he knew that defeat was near for the proud ones who always boast, on air, about their triumphs on the sporting field. A valiant effort by Damion Melville was not enough to save the WACK cricket allstars from the severe trashing at the hands of the ‘blind merry men’. Kenny Phillips took the most wickets for the WACK team but then again the blind cricketers scored over two hundred runs. Do you think that you could you put a value to that award and would you step on the podium to receive it? Yikes, but I believe that Kenny was bold and brave enough to accept that award. WACK could not even come close to scoring 100 runs – talk about an embarrassing episode - good bowling Kenny ): Oh how the mighty ones have fallen from Glory. Kent was boasting on air today but probably was very happy to end his shift before the final score and sorrowful results were announced on air. At the time of this writing I did not hear anyone from the Titanic WACK Cricket Allstars rise to the occasion and speak on air to accept defeat -good cut-arse have ah way of putting a damper on things; in others words 'dem boi shame fuh so' and ran from being interviewed. But wait, what are we hearing now? REMATCH! Gosh this cut ass was enough … no more please. Addendum: June 12, 2K9 OK folks today Damion addressed the game and after listening to both Kenny and Damion I must give them credit for being fantastic ambassadors of goodwill and champions of great sportsmanship. No excuses were made and Damion admitted that they took the sport and this cricket team for granted. Indeed the game proved difficult and yuh could talk and laugh all yuh want but until you are in their shoes and facing the music you will understand that you could talk the talk but you must practice to walk the walk. Never take anyone or anything for granted folks... Oh and yes, Congratulations to the National Blind Cricketers on a splendid display of talent and sportsmanship/Wack will always have your back!

Wackradio901fm.com - Easter Edition. Retro Showdown #2 for 2K9
I really could not help it ... I immediately cranked up my vox blog and put my quill to work. Hear ye, hear ye, Kung Fu has spoken and Kenny has gone on record to crown Fu the real deal the true Retro King.
Now Kenny did not wait for some dust to settle on Clef Jam's crown that he (Clef) won on Shouter Baptiste day and has put his led foot on the gas pedal and crowned Kung Fu the real Retro King.
Now foot in mouth Kenny is really creating trouble for himself and Kung Fu. I wonder how much Kenny paid Fu to speak on air? Nothing short of a bribe could have caused Kung Fu to leave Shaolin to come down from Mount St. Benedict Monastery, take off his Shaolin garments and participate in a show with these musical mortals.
I wish I was a fly on the wall when Kenny bribed Kung Fu to participate in the upcoming Easter Retro Show down. But wait, Papa Fly was there and he reported that Kenny was already going through the archives to get 'chunes' for Kung Fu to play. "My son Fu play these ... no one has touched these yet". Deso has to get involved and search the archives to ensure that Clef continues to rule the Retro kingdom that he recently conquered so majestically.
Foot In Mouth Kenny is at it again and now the lovable Kung Fu who managed one sentence (or was it two?) will have to be coached by Wack royalty Damion (his dear friend). Damion if yuh pull this one off yuh deserve ah raise in pay pardna.
Here is the deal "Foot in Mouth Kenny":
Smartypantz says that even if Kung Fu plays the best music on that day the show will only be a success if he can tie everything together with Shaolin words of wisdom. So even though everyone will be Kung Fu finghting let's hope Kung Fu does not get cold feet after his first sentence uttered into the microphone and ruin what could be a musical lesson for the ages (now this is how it should be done my children).
No pressure on you FU but our eyes are already on you! You laughed and scorned the others in your playful or should I say it this way.... Yuh take basket from Foot in Mouth Kenny and scorned the opposition before yuh get to the start line.
Hmmmmmmmm.................

Just imagine... Asphalt to cover roads all over the World - TLA shipped in pellet form for the George Washington Bridge in NYC/NJ and for use in Airport runways all over the World. Hold on, I must also state that we are also blessed with an Oil industry that also provides the raw material for bituminous mixes for road resurfacing at home - fantastic, we have it all! Now with the 20/20 vision plan of current PNM administration can you please explain the photo beneath that was published in Newsday (http://www.newsday.co.tt/news/0,95250.html
)? The vehicle sits of an earthen surface that goes by the name "Upper Moraldo Street" - is this a joke?

December 27, 2K8 1:41 am USA 2:41 am T&T
Just one day after Christmas and the new tracks are already creating a stir on the airwaves. I have had the opportunity to hear new music from Professor Black Stalin and the Baseman from Hell aka Shadow. I am pleased to say that the musical morsels were not just music to my ears but that they left a good feeling because of their lyrical content. The tracks I heard were excellent and none had "ah wine or jam on anybody" - I am sure that will eventually come but let's enjoy classic work for now.
So if you are interested in listening to the new music please note that the best source on the Web for "Total Local Content" is WACK Radio 901FM.com. Hey and if you register and log on you now have a live web cam to see the on air personality do his or her thing. The good thing about the web cam is that it will provide an avenue for viewing the launching of new music and live in studio interviews.
Good job Kenny and the crew at WACK. We look forward to the new music because like it or not it already feels like carnival time on WACK.... Christmas goneeeeeeeeee...... Let the Kaiso, Soca and Chutney play on.

Yes, we know that there are many criminal personalities lurking in the population ready to pounce on helpless civilians that warrants a show of force and sometimes the use of force is necessary. Having said that, now take a look at the photo above... Take a very long and hard look at the GUN nestling on the hip of the police officer - MENACING, isn't it?
I hope you took a very good look at the gun! Now what you need to know is that the people in the photo were simply protesting the increase of taxi fare by $1.00 in the Claxton Bay area. Why not... it is their democratic right.
Now here is a clip from the article and the link to the full story here:
"HEAVILY armed Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB) police officers faced off with angry Claxton Bay residents who yesterday blocked the road during a protest to demand taxi drivers lower their fares.
Faced with stern policemen in full riot gear and armed to the teeth with high-powered machine guns and pistols, the residents were undaunted as they demanded the drivers lower the fares which were recently increased from $3 to $4."
http://www.newsday.co.tt/news/0,91090.html
Now don't you think that these "heavily armed officers" should be out looking for those whom are menacing the society instead of scaring the public with this show of force... what are your thoughts?
Former ministers are to blame for unsafe housing
Gaynor Dick-Forde
There is a flood on the main road and everyone is running for cover… except the PNM administrators. Just imagine that with the bounty that the oil and natural gas resources have provided to our blessed nation our infrastructure still sucks. Instead of roads, telecommunication systems, a reliable water supply, consistent power generation, viable ports and airports, hospitals (God knows we need more beds for patients) and agricultural access roads they gave us towering structures that literally lead the nation to believe that we are now a developed nation or are on the way to achieve that status (20/20vision). Fool me once; fool me twice … well I guess we are all damn fools to believe the consistent blame game scenario. People are losing their lives and the situation is a dire one regarding crime and other social issues. However, to now lay the blame for the lives lost due to the floods with reference to poor housing standards because “former ministers” did not enforce the proper building codes is either an admission on their incompetence or simply another minister towing the line for the Prime Minister and his petty squabble with Dr. Keith Rowley. It reeks of the stench of petty 'politricks' as the lady Minister is attempting to look good for Pastor (sorry I meant Prime Minister) Patos. Play the blame game all you want but the bottom line is mismanagement of the resources of the country… yuh could run but yuh cyar hide.
Private nursing home in Sando: 119 tested positive for dengue
The Nile is a majestic river on the continent of Africa but in the small island of Trinidad denial is the river of shame that flows from the offices of the Ministry of Health. Party organizer Jerry Narace is the great pretender masquerading as the Minister of Health but instead should be labeled the “honorable minister of disgrace”. Why is this man still at the helm of the Ministry of Health with so much going wrong? Please don't tell me that the PNM means more to you than the performance of this Minister so much so that you choose to wear blinders as Narace blunders with the health of the nation.
Narace has denied that there is a Dengue outbreak in the county yet still people are getting sick and some are dying. The Minister of party organization aka Minister of Health has denied that there is a problem. Why are private nursing homes reporting such high incidences of dengue infection? Please read the article posted on the online edition of the Guardian newspaper here.
http://www.guardian.co.tt/news1.html
Denial is the the modus operandi of this brazen individual. He has chosen to address the problem with lots of talk and no action. We should not be in such a situation now that the tresuary is overflowing with petro dollars. The Minister should have a nationwide campaign in effect to keep these insects on retreat. Spraying and fogging of the area(s) most susceptible to dengue mosquitoes should be the priority at this time. Those whom are sick should not be lied to and left to become a statistic because of his incompetitence.
Fire Jerry Narace now!
